Labuan International Golf Club (LIGC) is a newly established golf club in the Federal Territory Labuan. It was officially opened to the public in 2013. The golf course is owned by Labuan Corporation and is managed by Saujana Scape and Greens Sdn. Bhd. It is an 18-holes golf course surrounded by natural lush forest.
The course is very challenging. Straight shots are necessary; if your ball goes astray, consider it lost. Therefore, golfers, especially high handicapper need to bring plenty of balls. The golf course is buggy-on-track only. I guess the rule is necessary as the course is hilly. From the blue tee box, the course is 6182 m long but from the red tee box, it is only 4924 m long.
The scenery, especially on fairway overlooking the South China Sea is breath taking. As the course is very near to the sea and is on higher altitude, the wind poses another challenge to golfers. But overall, playing the golf course is a fun and joyful experience.
